A Little About Allison
I am the designer, painter and owner of Hand-Painted Weddings, which I started in 2012. I am an artist; I am also a businesswoman. I find my peace in my daily yoga practice, and I find my energy in the fast-paced, upbeat and creative city of Philadelphia. I find that this balance between opposites is where I seem to fit. It is also how I paint. I have chosen watercolors as the perfect medium for Hand-Painted Weddings because while it is flexible and flows organically, I also paint in a meticulous, detailed manner, creating that perfect balance between the two in my work. In the process, I have established a track record of satisfying my clients with products that are simultaneously artistic and precise.

Hand-Painted Weddings stemmed from my own experience planning my wedding. While maneuvering the ample inspiration in the wedding market, I kept returning to this deep-rooted desire to be authentic and for our wedding to feel like us. Three years later, I started Hand-Painted Weddings in May 2012 to encourage other couples think outside the box for their wedding and find something that rings true to them.

At Hand-Painted Weddings, I love hearing the ideas couples come up with for their wedding paper. Wedding paper encompasses not only the first impression guests will have of a couple’s wedding, but it also is this thread that runs throughout the wedding from the ceremony programs to the escort cards, menu cards, table numbers, favor tags, guest books, and ending with the thank you cards. I know there is a lot of inspiration and opinions out there, but I encourage couples to really listen to their heart and embed their unique personalities into a truly emblematic expression of their love, their wedding.
